Gentry didn’t make any mistake. The Suns weren’t clicking at all. Better to save Nash for the next game when you realize this one is lost. D’Antoni would have played Nash another 20 minutes even if he knew the game was lost. Gentry is better in that respect. Get the bench some playing time and the next game they’ll be ready to contribute.

It’s not simply that they are the better team, which they very well may be. It’s the fact that we are a SHOOTING team. Period. We will live and die by our scoring.
The third quarter was just awful. When Grant and Hill and J Rich combine for 0 Points. i think we can safely say we are going to lose games like that. When you add that the team shot 45% from the field and around 30% from three… It’s over. We don’t have the defensive ability to win games where we shoot so poorly. I do think we could have made it a closer game if we wouldn’t have played Alando Tucker and Jaron Collins in as many minutes as they got. I would always prefer those minutes go to J Dud, Looou and Goran. They hustle, get rebounds and play SERIOUS defense. But Alvin was giving some of the further down the bench guys some minutes, that’s okay I guess, but certainly had an affect on the ability for the Magic to dominate the game the whole way through. Amar’e looked great minus his second half shooting. I am one of the biggest proponents of Amar’e needing touches, but after last night, I think if he is going to be taking 20 shots a game, he needs to be shooting 55% – 60%. He can’t play the game he does and shoot under 50% like last night. Granted, this wouldn’t have won us the game, but it would have helped get us back into it.

I think Dragic should have guarded Nelson and Nash Redick when Nash and Dragic played together because Nelson was destroying Nash …

We are going to have to get more from Frye on the road plain and simple. He has played horrible on the road and we can’t win with this inconsistency. Jason Richardson and Grant Hill both need to step it up especially when we go to Boston. There will be no victory in Boston if there isn’t a team effort so Grant, J Rich and Frye need to bring their asses to the game and act like they give a damn

I love how Collins pulled a couple veteran moves on Howard. He was responsible for Dwight’s early foul trouble – drawing two of the fouls (with the charge and the over-acted “elbow” in the 2nd quarter)
