@Matt. Actually they don't deserve any credit for keeping it close. The starters built a good lead in the first quarter, and were taken out and the bench immediately gave up the lead.

The starters were reinserted for the third quarter, and we won that quarter as well, 25-20, but then the bench again gave up the lead in the fourth quarter.

This is evidenced by the +/-'s of the starters and bench players. Channing Frye was +16 and Jason Richardson was +18, while Earl Clark was – 19, and Leandro Barbosa was – 17.

I agree that the outcome would have been different if the end of the bench wasn't playing the end of such a close game. But they deserve credit for keeping it so close. Don Nelson was playing his starters all the way to the end and they still only won by 3.

@BJabs, not sure if the box score I was looking at was wrong or if I was just that out of it last night, but thanks for noting those mistakes. They have now been changed. I guess you could say I’m still in preseason form, and I regret the errors.

Channing Frye did not lead the team in +/-, as Jason Richardson's +/- was +18.

Earl Clark did not lead the team in minutes, as Amar'e Stoudemire played for 29:06.

Looks like the Suns need another back up point . How about Jamaal Tinsley ? He might only cost the league minimum.
