Amare' is not worth a 100 million dollar contract. No defensve, no rebounding and a bad attitude. He should be wanting to step up into a leadership role but he is still crying about not being a captain. STep up and be a man!

amare has not and never will deserve that kind of money. if you are going to bet the farm on a player, they had better be totally committed to team and put forth consistently superb effort/results on both sides of the ball. doesn't really sound like the reputation amare has created for himself. I mean is there anyone who thinks that after amare has lined his pockets from any team who wants to pay through the nose for him, he isn't going to take some plays off on defense? take some games off? take some (part or all, voluntary or because of injury) seasons off? if big money is committed to a player, that player had better come as close as possible to guaranteeing a championship through efforts and abilities al la jordan, kobe, and a few others. i for one am not ready to put amare there, but i am just a lowly fan and besides it’s not my cash, only my opinion.

5 years $100-110 million. 15mil a year is sooo unrealistic. Amar'e is nowhere close to a decline at only 26. He'll be worth 20+mil at 31 no doubt.

I agree $15 mil is unrealistic in terms of what he's worth on the open market, and we all know Amare won't take less than the max at least until he tests the market. I even agree he'll end up fetching a deal in that range in all likelihood although I'm not sure he's worth that much. I'm just saying all too often deals like that end up backfiring. (And in the same breath, I think this team better sign Amare if it's the last thing they do, I just hope it's for a little less.)
