A new beginning

Change has come to America, and I’m not even talking about the Inauguration of Barack Obama.

ESPN.com has finally announced the creation of the TrueHoop Network, essentially an affiliation of basketball blogs under the ESPN name, and yours truly is honored to be a part of it.

Blogging czar Henry Abbott cut the ribbon on the network early this morning and explains its mission on TrueHoop.

For me, this means you’ll be seeing the ESPN logo, an ESPN Video Player and a StubHub ad when you visit my site.

I retain independence over the content, and the backing of the network means I might be able to go down and do what journalists do, which is actually cover games.

Abbott writes in his piece that he expects blogging “to change how sports are covered,” and ValleyoftheSuns.com will be there for all your blogging needs as America enters a new era in the blogosphere.

Michael Schwartz founded ValleyoftheSuns in October 2008 and is the owner/editor emeritus of the site. He is currently working toward his MBA in sports business at San Diego State University.

Congrats Schwartz! That's awesome. If you need help with anything, let me know. Us journalists need to stick together. Does this mean you aren't going to write for my magazine anymore? haha.

Congratulations Schwartz! If you ever need some figure skating coverage on your blog, you know who to see. :)
