The Suns are expected to have Steve Nash and Shaquille O’Neal back in the lineup tonight, and it doesn’t take a genius to realize what kind of a difference they make.

Nash runs the show and is the only pure point guard in the team’s playing rotation, while Shaq is a 7-foot-1, at least 325-pound dark hole who will make sure the Suns aren’t outrebounded by 16 tonight. Among other things.

Nash always seems to play his best games in his former home city of Dallas, and five years and two MVPs after Mavs owner Mark Cuban thought Nash was too old for a long-term contract, I’m sure the point guard will want to continue to show Cuban how wrong he was, with Nash still playing at a high level at the end of this deal.

After already suffering through their first three-game losing streak since February 2007, you can be sure the Suns will come out with some desperation tonight to prevent the franchise’s first four-game losing streak since the opening days of the 2006-07 campaign.
